SHOWCASING NATALIE WILKINS
This collection was exhibited at Graduate Fashion Week 2013. The sexual concept ‘Objectifying the Female Form’ instructs the use of silicone and vacuum formed plastics, as well as strong aspects of underwear detailing throughout. Large structural silhouettes and a muted feminine colour palette define the style of this innovative collection.
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Natalie Caroline Wilkins is a London based womenswear designer. She has studied a Foundation at Kingston University and graduated from Birmingham City University in 2013 with a Ba(hons) degree in fashion design. Natalie is an innovative designer combining extensive knowledge of creative pattern cutting, unusual fabric choices and structured silhouettes to create concept driven collections.
Natalie has experience in fashion and costume. After exhibiting her collection ‘Objectifying the Female Form’ at Graduate Fashion Week 2013 she gained impressive reviews, and has interned on multiple film sets and with technological fashion company Studio XO.
Although Natalie’s work is highly conceptual, she creates ready-to-wear lines with ease and understands fashion design at consumer level. Her aim is to one day start her own established brand featuring both wearable collections alongside exhibition pieces.
